LR41 battery equivalent

The one maker datasheet we found that prints LR41 is Energizer’s 192: an alkaline cell 7.90 mm across and 3.60 mm tall, rated 1.50 V. That sheet lists no other codes besides the IEC designation. The silver-oxide 392 and 384 have the same size on their sheets, but they are a different chemistry, and no sheet we checked lists them as LR41 replacements.

The copy of the 192 datasheet on Energizer’s site is stamped “OBSOLETE” at the foot of the page. We show its figures because it is still the maker’s published sheet for this cell; the stamp may mean the sheet or the part has been withdrawn, and the datasheet doesn’t say which.

AG3, the code often searched for alongside LR41, isn’t printed on any maker datasheet or cross-reference page this site cites, so we can’t match it to a cell from a maker’s own sheet.

192 (LR41) vs 392 / 384 (SR41)

LR41 and SR41: Same size, different chemistry — not listed as equivalent

On the datasheets the 392 and 384 share the 192’s diameter and height. The 192 is alkaline manganese dioxide at 1.50 V; the 392 and 384 are silver oxide at 1.55 V. Their capacity ratings aren’t comparable with each other either: Energizer and Renata test the 392 / 384 at different loads and cut-off voltages, so both figures are shown below. If your device’s manual names a cell, use that one.

Each maker rates capacity under its own test load and cut-off voltage, so the figures below aren’t measured the same way.

Renata’s cross-reference list

Renata, a battery maker, prints these other brands’ part numbers next to its own on each product page. They are Renata’s cross-references, not those brands’ own statements.

What this page doesn’t cover

  • Other makers’ alkaline cells of this size. We list only cells whose datasheet we could open and check.
  • Which cell a thermometer, laser pointer or toy takes. Its manual, or the marking on the old cell, is the authority.
  • Where to buy. This site sells nothing and has no shop links.
